  • Amman Hotel - 4*

Enjoy your buffet breakfast at your hotel in Amman before starting the day with a city tour of the capital. Your visit begins at the Citadel, one of Amman’s most important historical sites. Known in Greco-Roman times as Philadelphia, Amman reveals layers of history at the Citadel, where Roman temple columns stand against the skyline, alongside Byzantine church remains and the Umayyad Palace. You will also visit the Archaeological Museum, which displays fascinating artifacts from different periods of the city’s past. Next, descend to the Roman Theatre, located at the foot of the Citadel. Carved into the hillside, this impressive structure is still used today for cultural performances and events. After the city tour, drive north to the Greco-Roman city of Jerash, located about one hour from Amman. Jerash is one of the best-preserved Roman cities in the world and reflects a long history of human settlement, from Neolithic times through Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Umayyad periods. During Roman rule, Jerash flourished as a member of the Decapolis, a league of ten important Greco-Roman cities. Walk along colonnaded streets and explore temples, theaters, and ancient plazas. Later, continue to Ajloun to visit Ajloun Castle, a 12th-century fortress built by the forces of Saladin to defend the region against Crusader invasions. Perched on a hilltop, the castle is a remarkable example of medieval Arab-Islamic military architecture. As you explore its towers, chambers, and passageways, you will enjoy panoramic views over the Jordan Valley stretching toward the Dead Sea. At the end of the day, return to your hotel in Amman for an overnight stay.

Enjoy a buffet breakfast at your hotel in Amman, then board your vehicle and drive to Mount Nebo (approximately one hour). Mount Nebo is believed to be the place where Moses was granted a view of the Holy Land but was not permitted to enter it. Today, the mountain serves as an important memorial and pilgrimage site. On clear days, you may even glimpse Jerusalem, located about 60 kilometers away. Next, continue to Madaba, just a 15-minute drive from Mount Nebo. Known as the “City of Mosaics,” Madaba stands on an archaeological site with more than 4,000 years of history. The city is famous for its exceptional mosaic artwork, most notably in St. George’s Church, which houses the world-renowned Mosaic Map of the Holy Land. This detailed 6th-century map prominently features Jerusalem at its center. You will also visit the Church of the Apostles, where a beautifully preserved mosaic floor depicts the sea, with a central female figure surrounded by various creatures. Afterward, travel south to Kerak Castle (approximately 95 minutes from Madaba).
